Sutton Hoo 2006
Show at Sutton Hoo in Suffolk focusing on the development of the Saxon warrior over the centuries, focusing particularly on the early 7th century.
We arrived to represent the Saxon people at the very end of the Anglo-Saxon dominance of England in the 11th Century, and it was a great show, with a series of skirmishes, duels and even the Spear Game world championship (which Draum Broedr won!). Also possibly my last show purely as a member of Draum Broedr, as maybe now the Hrafn Broethr are getting large enough to attend shows on their own.

Amlwch 2004
Usually the best show of the year, based at Amlwch on the Isle of Anglesea.
This is one of the shows where the boat really is pushed out (very literally), with raids from the sea, a boat burning on the Saturday night, a village raid and a lot of fighting and drinking in between.! A good atmosphere and friendly locals make this a truly special event.

Elvaston 2004
Fun minor show at Elvaston in Derbyshire.
We were invited to this show by the local group, Hwicce, who had organised this show, showing a basic Viking raid against local Anglo-Saxons.

Hastings 2003
Annual reenactment of the Battle of Hastings, staged at Battle Abbey, near Hastings.
This is one of the largest reenactments of the year, attracting Dark Age reenactors from across Europe (and beyond) with the noble aim of remembering the final defeat of the Saxon king Harold Godwinson, and the end of Anglo-Saxon England.

Amble 2003
A very pleasant show set on a beach in Northumberland, showing a small-scale skirmish between a Norse raiding party and the local Anglo-Saxon defenders.
Amble gave me a good opportunity to get used to the way in which Viking shows are organised, important because this was one of the first shows I attended. Have also included some pictures of the simple types of kit I had when I first started.
